Middle School Transformations Update

Bond 2025 Richardson ISD

During the December Board Meeting, district administrators shared an update on the plan and timeline to complete the Middle School Transformation initiative for the six remaining junior high schools:

  • Apollo Junior High
  • Liberty Junior High
  • North Junior High
  • Parkhill Junior High
  • West Junior High
  • Westwood Junior High

Construction for these campuses is projected to begin in June 2026, with completion expected in Fall 2028, all made possible by voters’ support of Bond 2025.

Below you will see the projected project schedule:

  • December | 2025 Design/City Reviews
  • Early Spring | 2026 Possible Early GMP’s for Board
  • Spring | 2026 Finalize Design Documents
  • June | 2026 Construction Starts
  • End of May | 2028 Substantial Completion
  • July | 2028 Owner Move-in
  • Fall | 2028 Site Completion

As part of this initiative, the District reviewed academic and extracurricular programs designed to expand learning opportunities for our students. The Middle School Transformation Model’s academic and extracurricular programming, which was initially established for Forest Meadow and Lake Highlands Middle Schools, will remain consistent across the six remaining campuses undergoing transformation.
