Three additional RISD Class of 2025 graduates have been named as recipients of prestigious National Merit Scholarships.

Connor Reed, Lake Highlands HS, will be attending SMU with a probable career field of investment banking.

Andrew Ballard, Berkner HS, will be attending Texas A&M with a probable career field of electrical engineering.

Ada Barton, Richardson HS, will be attending St. Olaf College with a probable career field of biomedicine.

This year’s National Merit Scholarship Program began in October 2023 when then high school juniors took the PSAT/NMSQT. Last fall, the highest-scoring participants in each state were named national merit semifinalists. National Merit Finalists represent less than one percent of all high school students across the United States in the Class of 2025.

The RISD Class of 2025 now boasts five National Merit Scholarship recipients, including Connor Maul, Pearce HS, and Saadiq Akhtar, Richardson HS.

Congratulations!
