New Educators Gather at Berkner

New Educators First Day

Hundreds of educators – teachers, coaches, counselors, interventionists, specialists, and librarians – gathered at Berkner STEM Academy High School this week to begin their RISD journey.

Jason Ann will be teaching fifth grade math and science at Forest Lane Academy. He holds a teaching degree from the University of Missouri and just moved to the area less than two weeks ago. He has some high school friends living in Dallas who thought he’d be a good fit in RISD.

“I plan on making Dallas home,” Ann said. “The cost of living here and the competitive salary offered by the district” were factors in his decision to move down from St. Louis.

Welcome to RISD, Jason, have a great year and get ready for the #RISDPowerOfLove
