Newcomer Center Moves to Network Facility

Network of Community Ministries has become an invaluable partner of Richardson ISD over the past few years, and the nonprofit’s new headquarters is adjacent to the new RISD Family Services Center.

The facility at 1500 International Parkway is four times larger than the previous Network space and includes an expanded clothes closet and spacious food distribution center. Richardson ISD’s Newcomer Center is one of the RISD teams that will have offices in the new complex.

Another department moving to the new facility is Student Services, which assists parents and students in connecting with necessary resources while providing each campus with exceptional operation support, allowing administrators and teachers to focus on the product of student achievement and academic excellence.

Dr. Matthew Gibbins, Chief Executive Director of Student Services, said the new Family Services Center should quickly become a one-stop shop for many RISD families.

“With Student Services located in the Family Services Center inside the Network of Community Ministries building, we will be one step closer to truly providing wraparound services to RISD students and the entire RISD community,” Gibbins said. “Families will be able to finalize the enrollment process though our affidavit department and plug-in to the supports offered not only by the Network of Community Ministries but the varied resources offered by the many nonprofits throughout the RISD area.”
