Pearce Golfer Picked For National Team

Pearce senior Preston Stout has been named the captain’s pick to join the American team at the 2022 Junior Presidents Cup next month in Charlotte.

Captain Notah Begay III said Stout “earned this designation based on a stellar summer of play where he recorded high finishes in some of the most competitive junior golf events in the country. He will now have the opportunity to play alongside 11 of the top American players in hopes of retaining the Junior Presidents Cup in September.”

In June, Stout won his second consecutive Byron Nelson Junior Championship that was held at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas. He also won the C.T. Pan Junior Championship later in June down in Kingwood, Texas. Stout won that tournament by 13 strokes and was the only golfer to finish under par. Stout, who has committed to Oklahoma State, finished fourth in the Junior PGA Championship and fifth in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
