The Pearce baseball team swept Highland Park to force a play-in game vs Jesuit to decide the top spot in District 7-6A. The Mustangs beat Jesuit on a walk-off hit in the bottom of the final inning to finish first in district.
Pearce faces South Grand Prairie in the first round of the UIL playoffs. Game 1 is Thursday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. at home and Game 2 will be played at SGP on Friday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. If necessary, Game 3 will be on Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at a site TBD.
Lake Highlands High School also clinched a spot in the UIL state playoffs and will take on Arlington High School at home on Friday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. Game 2 is set for Saturday, May 6, at Arlington HS at 2 p.m., and if necessary, game 3 would be played 30 minutes after the second game.
