FAQ
Principal for a Day is a unique opportunity for local business leaders, community members, and partners to experience a day in the life of a school principal in Richardson ISD. Participants are paired with a campus leader and gain firsthand insight into the work, challenges, and triumphs of our educators and students.
This program is open to professionals, community leaders, local business owners, and other individuals who are interested in public education and making a positive impact in Richardson ISD.
The day typically begins in the morning around 8:00 a.m. and concludes after lunch. Exact times will vary by campus and will be shared with confirmed participants.
You’ll shadow a campus principal, participate in school activities, observe classrooms, meet with students and staff, and gain a deeper understanding of how RISD schools operate on a daily basis.
Registration opens August 1 and the sign-up form will be available until September 15. Space is limited and participants are selected based on availability and campus needs.
You may indicate a preferred grade level (elementary, junior high, or high school) or specific campus when you sign up. While we try to honor requests, placements are based on availability and district needs.
