MLK Essay, Art Contest Winners

City of Richardson Art and Essay Contest

A half dozen RISD students were awarded $200, and their essays and art pieces will be published in the May edition of Richardson Today after winning the city’s annual MLK essay and Black History Month art contests.

The essay contest winners are Hafsa S. of MST in the fourth-grade to six-grade category and Shereen Qaralusi of RHS in the 10th to 12th grade category.

In the art contest, Yuval S. of Canyon Creek Elementary won the first to third-grade category; Amal Raj A. of Greenwood Hills Elementary won the fourth to sixth-grade category; Cooper Mansur of Pearce High School won the seventh to ninth-grade category; and Katherine Ramirez Sosa of Richardson High School won the 10th to 12th grade category.
