The 41st annual RISD Council of PTAs Used Book Fair is happening this week at a new location. The 2023 UBF is located at 616 S. Sherman Street in Richardson.

“I am plumb tickled to be able to launch this year’s Used Book Fair in our new space,” said Ronson Page, the Council rep for this year’s event. “It’s a fun, colorful space with individual rooms for many categories, and it reminds me of what I loved about the used book stores I practically lived in growing up. The excitement, the possibilities around every corner, not knowing what you might find, but somehow knowing a treasure of a book is there just waiting, and all you have to do is look.”

The Used Book Fair is open to the public Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 12, from noon to 4 p.m. This year’s UBF at the new location will also be open on Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Every RISD student has an opportunity to get a book at the UBF as the RISD Council of PTAs provides every campus with bookmark coupons that can be exchanged for a free book. Every child. Every day.

A popular destination for those looking for thousands of highly discounted vintage treasures, the Used Book Fair is traditionally the biggest fundraiser for the RISD Council of PTAs, supporting scholarships for graduating seniors and continuing education for teachers in the district, in addition to benefitting RISD PTAs at the campus level. The UBF also relies on the generosity of community sponsorships.

Stop by the 2023 UBF at 616 S. Sherman this weekend to fill an entire grocery bag with gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and more for just $25. #RISDBelieves
