RISD Cross Country Dominates District 7-6A Championship Meet

Richardson ISD had an outstanding day at the District 7-6A Cross Country Championship Meet on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Prestonwood Polo Club in Oak Point, TX.

Girls Varsity Results: 

  • J.J. Pearce High School finished 1st
  • Richardson High School finished 2nd 
  • Lake Highlands School finished 3rd

All three teams advance to the Regional Meet in Lubbock later this month. Pearce was led by the overall District 7-6A Varsity Girls champion, Junior student – Faira Francis. RISD took the top six spots in the girls’ race and 13 out of the top 15 finishers.  

Boys Varsity Results: 

  • Lake Highlands High School finished 1st
  • J.J. Pearce High School finished 3rd

Lake Highlands High School was dominant in claiming the team championships. The Wildcats took three of the top four spots, led by Rhett Austin and Andrew Thompson, who finished 1st and 2nd.  All of the top five  Wildcat finishers were in the top 12 overall. Lake Highlands and Pearce will advance to the Regional Meet in Lubbock later this month.   

Girls Junior Varsity Results:

  • Richardson High School finished 1st 
  • J.J. Pearce High School finished 2nd
  • Berkner High School finished in 3rd

Richardson High School JV girls division claimed the team championship for the first time.
