Applications are open for the 2023 Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program. The deadline is March 22.
Now in its sixth year, the program immerses rising high school seniors into the world of professional work with job skills training and paid summer internships at area businesses, nonprofits and government agencies. To be eligible, students must meet several qualifications including:
- Current high school junior who attends Richardson ISD or lives in the City of Richardson
- A GPA of at least a 2.5
- At least 16 years old and eligible to work in the U.S. by June 1
- Available for workforce skills training from 8:30 a.m. to noon on March 25 at RHS or from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on March 28 at Berkner
- Available on May 3 for a job fair
- Available on June 1 and June 2 for workplace skills training
- Available June 5 through Aug. 4 for the internship
Businesses are also being recruited to host interns or sponsor an intern at a nonprofit organization. Deadline for employers to sign-up is April 6.
