This weekend, Superintendent Tabitha Branum was named the Superintendent of the Year by Texas PTA! She was honored at the state LAUNCH leadership conference during the 2026 Outstanding Educator Awards.

This well-deserved honor reflects her unwavering commitment to going above and beyond to back the future for every child! Her vision, leadership, and genuine heart for the Richardson ISD community have created a culture where every student is supported and can reach their growth goals.

“Tabitha knows that schools are stronger when families are involved, and she leads with that belief every day. Whether she’s greeting parents at a PTA program or checking in at a campus, she listens with intention and makes people feel seen. She encourages principals to prioritize PTA, not just with words but with action-modeling what partnership looks like. She supports events that bring parents in, and when she speaks, she speaks with heart. She reminds families that they matter and that their voices belong at the table. Her leadership builds trust and connection, from the classroom to the home,” says Sarah Barker, who nominated Superintendent Branum for the award.

We are so proud to celebrate her leadership and the example she sets for our community.
