RISD currently operates two child learning academies to provide care for employee children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. Little Eagles CLA and Little Mustangs CLA are projected to serve about 125 RISD employee children this year, at tuition rates well below third-party providers.
The district is planning to open its third CLA in August 2025. Located at the former Springridge Elementary building, Little Rams/Little Wildcats CLA will provide high quality daycare services to employee children more convenient to the Berkner and Lake Highlands learning communities. The initial goal for this CLA to open in January 2025, but code requirements and the construction timeline align with an August 2025 opening to serve employees’ families in advance of the 2025-26 school year.
