Three RISD High Schools Earn National AP Honor Roll Status

College AP

Lake Highlands, Pearce and Richardson high schools have been recognized for their outstanding work to welcome students into Advanced Placement (AP) courses and support students on the path to college success.

The new College Board AP School Honor Roll is a prestigious annual recognition program that celebrates schools nationally whose AP programs have met specific criteria for students in the most recent graduating class. Schools need to have at least 40% of graduating students take at least one AP class during their high school career, with at least one-quarter of those students scoring a 3 or higher on the AP test.

The College Board also measures the number of graduating seniors who took five or more AP tests during high school with at least one of those exams taken as a freshman or sophomore to indicate “students are spreading their AP experience across grades rather than feeling disproportionate pressure in any single year.”

Richardson and Pearce earned the Silver level of distinction for the 2023-2024 school year, and Lake Highlands earned the Bronze distinction. RHS earned the Silver distinction for the second consecutive year.

Congratulations to students, teachers, and administrators!
