Trey Bryant Named Head Football Coach/Area Coordinator at Berkner

Lee Vernon Bryant III has been named head football coach and area coordinator at Berkner High School.

Trey is a 2005 graduate of Berkner. He succeeds his former coach, Jim Ledford, who announced his retirement in February after 21 years leading the Rams.

Bryant was a four-year letterman at Baylor University, serving as captain his senior year. After playing for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL and Kansas City Command in the arena football league, Bryant returned to RISD as a physical education teacher and coach at Liberty Junior High. He moved on to similar posts at Plano West High School where he served as special teams coordinator and then to McKinney HS where he served as associate head coach and defensive coordinator. Welcome home, Coach Bryant!
