Trustees Adopt Lowest Tax Rate in 35 Years

At the September meeting, RISD Trustees formally adopted the 2024-25 district’s property tax rate of $1.1052, which is lower than last year’s rate of $1.1431 per $100 of taxable assessed value and is RISD’s lowest overall tax rate since 1989-90.

The maintenance and operations portion of the tax rate is $0.7552, and is at the lowest level since 1984-85.

The portion of RISD’s tax rate used to pay principal and interest on bonds approved by voters, known as the debt service tax rate, has remained unchanged at $0.35 since 2016.
