Richardson ISD had not one, but two student winners in the recent Region 10 Spanish Spelling Bee! After advancing from the RISD competition, two district students finished first in the North Texas region event.
Farah Aviles from RISD Academy won the third grade division and Markos Ortega Sanchez from West Junior High Arts and Technology Magnet won the division for grades 6-8. Congratulations to both of these scholars, their families and their RISD teachers!
Markos will now advance to the State of Texas Spanish Spelling Bee in El Paso in June.
