RISD Schools and Offices Open Friday

Inclement Weather information

Schools Open Friday
Based on current conditions, RISD schools and offices will be open Friday, Feb. 25, on a normal schedule. Families are encouraged to be cautious on the way into school Friday morning and take extra time if needed. Students who arrive at school later than usual will not be counted as tardy.

If the situation changes and RISD’s schedule tomorrow is impacted after all, parents and staff will be notified directly prior to 5:00 a.m., and stakeholders are always encouraged to monitor risd.org and district social media accounts for the latest information.

Original Post
When inclement weather causes RISD to cancel or delay school, parents and staff are notified by telephone, email and text message.

If there is a forecast of possible inclement weather, RISD staff monitor campus, travel, and bus route conditions across the district, including overnight, and make decisions impacting school or activity schedules, if needed.

Parents and staff will be notified directly before 5 a.m. if school or activities will be impacted by inclement weather. The larger RISD community may monitor the district’s social media accounts and check RISD.org for the latest information.

As always, parents should ensure that their child’s school has up-to-date contact information.
