Original Post:
Candidates must receive at least 50.1% of the votes cast to be seated without a runoff. The results of the May 7 election by Dallas County indicate none of the three candidates in RISD single-member district 2 received the requisite number of votes, triggering the runoff election between the two candidates with the highest vote totals, Sherry Clemens and Vanessa Pacheco.

RISD Board President Regina Harris ran unopposed in single-member district 4; and Rachel McGowan received 51% of the votes in single-member district 5, according to the unofficial results from Dallas County,

The RISD board canvassed the May 7 election results on Monday, May 16, and Harris and McGowan were sworn in at the May 23 board work session.

Please note that the June 18 runoff election is unrelated to the May 24 Primary Runoff Election date which did not include any RISD elections.
