143 Seniors Graduate from Dallas College

RISD had more than 140 PTECH students in the Class of 2024 graduate with an associate degree or industry certification through the school district’s growing partnership with Dallas College.

The PTECH program provides students with the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and an associate degree or a college-level credential simultaneously, setting them on a path to future success in both college and career.

This year, 123 RISD students will receive either a health professions readiness award or a vocational nursing patient care tech certificate. Three students achieved an advanced manufacturing/mechatronics technology certificate, and 13 obtained an Associate of Art in Business Administration and Management. One RISD senior attained an Associate of Art in Criminal Justice, and three were awarded a Criminal Justice certificate.

Level One certificates are awarded to students who complete at least 15 credit hours of college courses and who show mastery of specific knowledge or skills.

“These graduates have demonstrated extraordinary determination, perseverance, and commitment to their studies, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments,” RISD PTECH Director Courtney Sharkey said.

Congratulations to these members of the Class of 2024! #RISDBelieves
