During the November 20, 2025 Board of Trustees meeting, district administrators shared considerations to expand the district’s magnet and choice/specialized programming with the goal of increasing opportunities for more students within Richardson ISD.

RISD elementary magnet and choice schools offer specialized, interest-based programs that engage students early with unique learning opportunities tailored to their passions.

To encourage continued engagement with learning during this time, see a list of simple, fun suggestions for activities and things to do during the break.

From master plans to business models, Mrs. Bellone’s Architecture class presented their proposals to Mayor Amir Omar, city and district leaders.

Berkner, Lake Highlands and Richardson High Schools all won their Round 1 games on Friday, Nov. 14 to become Bi-District Champions and are moving on to Round 2.

Athletes from RISD high schools have committed to continuing their academic and athletic development at colleges and universities around the country on National Signing Day, November 12.

RISD is among the 72 school districts in the state of Texas to be recognized as a 2026 District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT).
