RISD trustees approved the 2023-24 student code of conduct that includes updates to comply with new legislation regarding e-cigarettes, vaping, and other tobacco products.

New state law results in a mandatory transfer to CMLC, the RISD disciplinary alternative education program, for any student caught vaping or using an e-cigarette or other tobacco product on campus, near campus, or at an RISD-sponsored event.
