The RISD Dyslexia Training Center has been formally accredited by both the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) and The International Dyslexia Association (IDA), and is now recognized for its exemplary educational practices and role as a leader in dyslexia education and support.
“This accreditation is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire RISD dyslexia team, who have been tirelessly working to ensure that our program meets the highest standards of excellence,” said RISD Director of Dyslexia Services Shannon Suess. “It reflects our ongoing commitment to empowering students with dyslexia by providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Our comprehensive approach to teaching students, combining research-based teaching methods with personalized learning plans, has been validated by these prestigious recognitions, and we thank the RISD community and leadership for providing us with the resources to serve students who can thrive academically with dyslexia interventions.”
The processes to earn dual accreditation are rigorous and lengthy, and this distinction completes a five year process. As one of just five ISDs in the state and nation with this dual distinction, RISD has joined the elite ranks of dyslexia programs across the United States.
