Native American Heritage Month

Native American Heritage Month

November is a time to acknowledge and celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Native Americans.

RISD campuses have the option to participate in a Land Acknowledgment, which is a formal statement that recognizes and respects Native Americans as traditional stewards of the land the school district encompasses and the enduring relationship that exists between Native Americans and their traditional lands. On Wednesday, Nov. 29, join the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. for a Courageous Conversation – Spread the Word: Celebrating Indigenous Cultures Through Oral Histories and Storytelling.

Please visit National Native American Heritage Month for more information about the indigenous peoples of this area.
