- Final planning is underway for the 2021-22 school year that begins in one month, on August 17.
- Families of all grade levels can continue to enroll online at risd.org/enrollment.
- Pre-K seats are available at no cost for qualifying families based on state criteria such as income, language or military service.
- Additional Pre-K seats for 4 year olds are available on a tuition basis to any RISD family interested in engaging, high quality Pre-K taught by RISD teachers.
- RISD is continuing to seek exceptional candidates for a variety of school and central positions. If you know of someone who is interested in learning more, please direct them to risd.org/careers.
- RISD is finalizing health guidelines for 2021-22, which will be ready on August 2.
- The district has operated academic programs throughout the summer, serving more than 9,000 students with minimal impact so far from positive COVID cases.
- As previously shared, RISD is not offering a virtual option for 2021-22, and masks will be optional but encouraged indoors for people who are not vaccinated.
- Vaccines are not required by the state of Texas but also strongly encouraged for students who are eligible.
- The district is looking forward to welcoming parents and volunteers back into schools for 2021-22 and greatly appreciates the ongoing efforts of our PTAs, Dad’s Clubs, and other groups that benefit RISD students, teachers and staff.
