2025 Bond Steering Committee

Bond steering committee meeting

Overview

For at least the last 20 years, the district has planned for and called a bond election every five years. RISD uses Bond proceeds to fund capital items such as construction and renovation and the equipment of schools and other district facilities, land purchases, technology, school buses and other district vehicles. RISD last held a bond election in May 2021 and the district currently is completing the projects and purchases authorized under that bond program.

Administration has started preliminary data gathering for the next bond election to be held no earlier than November 2025. Trustees commissioned the creation of a 2025 Bond steering committee to assist the district with prioritizing narrowed resources for the next bond election. The committee will meet during the spring semester beginning in March and share their recommendations to the RISD Board in May.

Learn more about the Bond Steering Committee and watch the discussion at the January 16, 2025 Board meeting.

Purpose of the Committee

The purpose of the 2025 Bond Steering Committee is to ensure that the district’s short and long term facility, equipment and infrastructure needs are met with the next bond election. A future bond election recommendation will be made to the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees after the committee reviews data and other relevant information from district staff with the goal of designing and maintaining learning environments that align with the district’s North Star Goal.
