Richardson ISD, and district partner and state-approved vaccinator GeneIQ, will be hosting another COVID vaccination opportunity for RISD students, employees and community members on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the RISD Administration Building. GeneIQ nurses will be administering the Pfizer vaccine to all those who register. Please note that the vaccine is currently approved for people aged 12 or older. The district will host a second dose vaccine opportunity on Friday, Aug. 27.

The event was initially open to RISD students and employees, but it has been expanded to include any RISD community member who wants to receive the vaccine that is administered at no cost. The RISD Administration Building is located at 400 S. Greenville Avenue in Richardson.

Getting vaccinated has proven to be the most effective way of staying safe from COVID, including the delta variant that is spreading rapidly in Dallas County and in Texas. It is uncommon for people who have been vaccinated for COVID to end up hospitalized or have serious illness.
