Election Day is Saturday, May 1, and more than three dozen RISD campuses and the Professional Development Center will be polling places. Dallas County voters can cast a ballot at any polling place in the county.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Click to view map of RISD polling places.)
RISD voters are weighing in on two bond propositions and two board seats. Proposition A is for the authorization to issue $694 million of school bonds for capital construction, infrastructure, repairs, safety and security, and equipment. Proposition B is for $56 million for student, staff and school technology equipment.
RISD stakeholders are encouraged to explore this informational website to learn more about what’s included in the proposed bond package; why specific items and projects were included; and how approval of Bond 2021 will not increase RISD’s tax rate.
The federal stimulus funds that RISD is expecting from the state of Texas will be used for operating costs to address the impact of the pandemic on students, and are unrelated to items in the bond propositions.
