Reminder: No School April 30

No school April 30

At its March 8 meeting, the RISD board approved the submission of a bad-weather waiver to the Texas Education Agency for school districts to not make up days lost to February’s winter storms.

In preparation for conducting school during this pandemic year, RISD added minutes to each school day starting in August. District teaching and learning staff are working with teachers to adjust the scope and sequence of course curriculums, and days previously set aside for district assessments will now be used for classroom instruction. For those reasons, the district will not use snow make up days to recover the days lost to February’s storms, and April 2 and 30 will remain student and staff holidays.
