Second Semester Classes Resume Jan. 4

Just a reminder that Monday, Jan. 3, is a student holiday and staff development day. RISD staff will report back a day before students return to start the second semester.

Another reminder that masks will become optional and encouraged in RISD elementary schools starting with the first day of the second semester on Tuesday, Jan. 4. A COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for children ages 5-11 and is widely available around the RISD community at no cost from providers. Families interested in finding vaccine opportunities can visit https://www.vaccines.gov/ to locate a provider.

RISD will continue to encourage masks while indoors, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continue to recommend that all people inside schools wear masks, regardless of vaccination status. More information about RISD’s pandemic response and protocols is available in The Blueprint here.

Enjoy the break. Rest, relax and recharge. #RISDPowerOfLove
