Superintendent’s Update – October 14

Dr Stone October 14th Video Update

Click here to watch the October 14 superintendent’s update. Dr. Stone talks about Dallas County’s change in risk level. Highlights include:

  • The county’s change in risk level will not impact RISD school activities.
  • RISD’s health and distancing protocols, coupled with contact tracing and quarantine efforts, have proven effective so far in limiting positive cases from becoming outbreaks.
  • Overall positive cases among all people residing in RISD’s zip codes remain lower than some other parts of Dallas County.
  • RISD is committed to transparency – stakeholders can view up to date data about positive cases in schools and RISD zip codes through the COVID-19 page.
  • Please continue to wear a mask and cooperate with other protocols that lower the risk of transmission.

Dr. Stone has provided weekly updates throughout the pandemic. Previous messages can be found here.
