North Texas Giving Day Reopens Website to Help Winter Storm Recovery

Richardson ISD Community resources

Many RISD students and staff have been impacted by the recent winter storms.

The school district has bolstered its partnerships with The Richardson ISD Foundation and the Network of Community Ministries to provide food, water, clothing and financial assistance for home repairs to RISD community members.

When you choose to donate to either of these organizations, your gift is directly impacting students and staff in RISD.

There are multiple resources available to North Texans affected by the winter storm, including applications for disaster relief through FEMA.

The City of Dallas is offering one case of bottled water for residents, who can also fill bulk water containers at various locations. Click here for shelter locations in Dallas and more information.

The City of Richardson reports that most municipal facilities and services are open and operating normally. The Richardson City Council also authorized storm relief programs.

The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army can be reached by texting “SHELTER” and zip code to 43362 (for Spanish REFUGIO and zip code to 43362) for more information about temporary shelter.

The Network of Community Ministries can help provide temporary relocation assistance, access to plumbing and auto repair, as well as food and clothing. Network also has resources to help residents with emergency utility assistance.

The Richardson ISD Council of PTAs operates The Clothes Closet on Belt Line Rd. across from RHS to provide any student in need with a wardrobe and toiletries. Contact your school counselor to set up an appointment at The Clothes Closet.

Many thanks to RISD’s community partners and to you for your continued support. Please reach out if you need help. #RISDWeveGotThis
