Veterans Day
There were numerous activities across RISD for Veterans Day.
Halloween brought another week of anticipation in RISD athletics, with a mix of a lot of celebrations, some tears and prepping for the playoffs.
RISD seniors signed letters of intent this week to continue their academic and athletic careers in college.
On Friday night, Lake Highlands plays at the Gopher-Warrior Bowl in Grand Prairie, and Berkner plays in Choctaw Stadium in Arlington.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, which is also a student holiday and RISD staff development day.
The start of tonight’s varsity football games has been pushed back to 8 p.m. Start times for volleyball and basketball unchanged.
RISD is proposing a series of minor changes to the existing boundaries of the single-member districts that determine how five of the seven board members are elected.
RISD received an unmodified or clean opinion, meaning all “financial statements are correct in all material aspects.”
Pearce and Lake Highlands won first round matchups to both become bi-district champions.
RISD volleyball teams play first round playoff games on Nov. 1.
